Why have my books been recalled?

At certain times you will find that some titles become heavily requested especially when they have been specified as key reading for essays and assignments.  It is therefore very likely that another user may place a hold on an item you have on loan.  This will generate a recall notice.  You will be notified of the new shortened date by which you must return the item to the library. It is not possible for you to renew a recalled loan, but you can place a hold on it. If you fail to return the item by the new date, you will incur more severe late return penalties.

Please note: Your loans will not automatically renew if you have overdue recalled items and will incur late fees.
