Why won't my interlibrary loan document open or download, why do I get a blank page?

There may be a number of reasons that your document will not download or open, please check the following:

  • Online access to the internet is needed every time you open your DRM Lite document provided by the British Library.

  • You must open the document in Adobe Reader version 10 or above. If your browser has a built in PDF viewer (such as Chrome), you will get a blank page. After downloading, at the bottom left of the screen, you should see the pdf icon and the file name, click on the down arrow and choose ‘Always open in Adobe Reader’.

  • The download link is live for 30 days from the date of the original email. If the download link has expired, you will need to re-request your ILL document. Please note, the library will be charged again for the second request.
