Why can't I access this e-journal / e-book / e-database?

If you are having problems accessing a particular e-resource, we recommend that you check the following;

  • Have you signed in to Library Search?  It is important that you sign in to Library Search with your given university username and password in order to enable all features.
  • Take a look at the dates, sometimes there are more years available than our subscription allows.

If you are still having difficulty, you can contact the customer services desk (01248 382983) in the first instance and they will check to see if you there is a simple reason that you cannot access the resources (e.g. if accessing off campus, you haven’t accessed the resource through the library catalogue / you are trying to access an article that the Library does not subscribe to / your library account has expired etc.)  If the customer services team cannot answer your query they may refer you on to our Digital Services team who will thoroughly investigate the cause of the problem.
