Most of our e-books are provided by ProQuest Ebook Central.  Before you can download one of these e-books, you will need to ensure that you have the required software installed. If you are using a laptop or desktop PC, you will need to have Adobe Digital Editions installed. If you are using an Android or OS device (iphone/ipad), you will need to install the Bluefire Reader app.

Once you have installed the relevant software, you will need to create an Adobe account, which is required to open the book in Bluefire Reader.

To download an e-book that you have found listed in the Library Catalogue to an Android or OS device, first click on ‘Download Book’:

Select your device and click Continue

Click on the links to install the Bluefire Reader app on your device

Once installed, you will need to create an Adobe ID to open the book. Click on ‘Create a free Adobe ID’

Fill in the required fields and click ‘Sign up’

Your downloaded e-books will then be saved to your library, click on the book cover to access them

This is how the book will appear on your device

Your electronic downloaded book will remain on your device for a period of 24 hours. You can always download the book again should you need it for longer.
