A large number of our e-books are provided by ProQuest Ebook Central which offers you the option to Read Online, this option allows you to copy, print, annotate, zoom and search within the text for keywords. If you wish to read the book offline however, there is also an option to Download.  As these downloads are supplied in an 'EPub' format, you will first need to install the Adobe Digital Editions app on your device, register and create an Adobe ID before you can download the book.

To download your ebook, first search for your book in Library Search (the library catalogue). Search under the BU Library Collections scope and then you can limit to Resource Type: Books & E-books and Show Only: Online Access

When you find your ebook, click on the Online Access link…

…and then the E-book Central link (this will prompt you to sign in if you have not already done so

You will now be given an option to read the book online or to download the book

If you select Download Book it will ask what device you are using (ipad/iphone or tablet/android) select your device and click continue

You will then be taken to the app store where you can download the Adobe Digitial Editions app

Once the app has been installed, you will need to click on the Menu Button in the top left of the screen

You then need to click on Settings

Click Authorise

You will then need to create an Adobe ID by clicking on Create Adobe ID

Your device should then be activated to download e-books
